Firework Fun!

4th November 2016
Fantastic Friday Firework Fun!

After a day of almost continuous heavy rain the skies cleared just in time to allow a fantastic start to the weekend, allowing over  850 adults and children to fill the grounds of Georgian Gardens C.P. School and enjoy an evening  of  fun and fireworks.
Throughout the evening the PTA organised a BBQ stall which served hundreds of hot dogs and burgers and other stalls which offered a variety of hot and cold drinks, cakes and sweets which meant that no one went home hungry!
Whilst waiting for the fireworks to begin the tombola stalls proved very popular,  as did the sales of flashing necklaces and bracelets.
The ever-popular 'Mystery Jars' stall, organised by the school's Green Team, sold out quickly as the children selected and unwrapped the jars to discover their 'prize' ranging from cars, crayons and sweets to craft kits and jewellery. Two lucky 'customers ' went home with jars full of money! At the next Green Team meeting the members will decide what they are going to buy with the £157 raised.
Overall, during the evening, more than £4000 was raised for school funds to provide exciting opportunities for the children throughout the year.
The skies were lit up with a spectacular array of fireworks of every colour and shape.....a finale well worth waiting for!
The  Littlehampton West Sussex Fire Service were 'standing by' but, fortunately, not called upon to dash into action! They will, however, be visiting again next week to deliver 'fire safety' talks to the children.
The school would like to thank the owners of 'All Seasons' in the village for their very generous sponsorship of the event.
