January 2020

30th January 2020

Southern Area Partnership Indoor Athletics Finals 2020.
What an amazing afternoon of athletics!   Having qualified to represent the Angmering Cluster just last week, Georgian Gardens athletes were off to the finals in Worthing, to do it all again on Wednesday, 29th January!
We took a team of 30 excited and nervous children to Davison High School for 3 hours of running, jumping and throwing, being cheered and encouraged by their noisy team mates.    The children took part in the following events -
I lap relay,2 lap relay,3 lap relay races and an obstacle relay.
Speed Bounce
Standing Long Jump
Vertical Jump
Standing Triple Jump
Standing Chest Throw
Congratulations to all the children for representing our school so well.  They showed great teamwork and sportsmanship.
Well Done from  Mrs Darney,  Miss Petfield, Mrs Smith
Earlier this week, Year 2 excitedly welcomed a visitor into school. As part of their special week learning about Chinese New Year, they all learnt some traditional dances. I am sure that you will agree that they all did a wonderful job.

Wildcats have started at Georgian Gardens!

We are delighted to host Wildcats at Georgian Gardens.  A FA initiative, run by qualified coaches from Premier Sports the programme is designed to inspire girls aged between 5-11 to get involved in football.  Wildcats provides a regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls.

The sessions take place on a Monday afternoon after school.   The sessions are open to all (not just those who attend Georgian Gardens)  and provide a safe environment where girls with no football experience can have fun engaging with sport, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions, learn new things and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

For more information and to book a session go to http://www.sussexfa.com/players/youth/girls/wildcats.
